How Microsoft has impacted your life and how you plan to bring a change to the society being a Microsoft Student Associate?

Microsoft – A company that changed the world by bringing brilliant consumer products .

Microsoft made many inventions as well as provided the consumers with best products at the cheapest price . Therefore , we all know and almost own a Microsoft product in one way or the other . Microsoft has been into our lives in personal computers , smartphones , server computers , embedded devices and much more .

I would like to tell you that when I first saw a computer (a Personal Computer) , it had Windows 98 running as its OS . So for some next years I believed that Windows is the ONLY thing that can run a computing machine .

Now I would like to discuss about some Microsoft technologies and how they impacted my as well as your life -

1. Windows – Microsoft Flagship Operating System for Desktop and Personal PC's
   Windows history goes deep down to November 20 , 1985 , when Microsoft introduced an operating environment as a graphical operating shell for MS-DOS in response to the growth interest in Graphical User Interfaces .
   That was the day when the world of computers was revolutionized .
   From there on there were many versions of Windows with many improvements and applications that mad Windows to dominate the world market share of Operating Systems single handedly .
   There were many famous versions of Windows like Windows XP , Windows 7 , Windows 8 and the latest version Windows 8.1 (which was delivered as free update for windows 8 users).
   Now from MS-DOS era to current era Microsoft has dominated the market share , that clearly shows that how good and easily available and great support Microsoft gives to its consumers so that they instead of opting for a different OS try to stick to every version of Windows .
2. Windows Phone – Microsoft Flagship Operating System for Mobile Phones
   Windows Phone OS is Microsoft's attempt to reach to you in the Mobile and Tablet era . I must tell you that before Windows Phone was named Windows Mobile and Windows Mobile was also one of the dominant OS in Mobile world . In fact , if you know then Symbian OS was also developed to challenge Windows Mobile and you will be shocked to know that Android – Google's Flagship OS for Mobile was also launched to compete with Windows Mobile and Symbian OS .
   Also , I must tell you that most of the people think that Windows Phone is not so popular but I must tell you that it is World's third most used Mobile Operating System and it's market share is being increasing at a very fast pace .
   Also I must tell you that Windows Phone is one of the most stable and virus free mobile Operating System in the World .
3. Microsoft Office – An Office Suite without which a company cannot run
   Microsoft Office is bundled set of applications directly made for organisational purposes . It was first launched by Bill Gates on August 1,1988. From that day onward Office popularity increased exponentially and it became the most used Office Suite in the world . In fact , once Softpedia quoted in a post that "Microsoft Office is used by over 1 Billion people in the world". Now I would like to say that Office is so popular that even it was demanded by Apple Inc. that Microsoft should release a version of Office for Mac OS and iOS . Office is one of most powerful as well as successful tool ever built by Microsoft .
   Also , recently Microsoft released Office Online for users that do not have Microsoft Office Suite installed and they need it , so they can use it online .
4. Hotmail ,live , Outlook – Web Applications that changed the world .
   Outlook is one of the world's first Web mail services in the world .
   Today we all know about Gmail because nowadays everybody uses Google as search engine and therefore uses Gmail as there email service . But when nobody was even thinking about an email service , Microsoft developed it .
   Also live.com was one of the most popular sites in the world . It's popularity was decided by the number of people signing up for it . Now Microsoft has integrated all of the above in one service . So now if you want to access any one of those you can type anyone name in your favourite search engine and go through the results and you will be redirected to the same page .
5. Xbox – Online Gaming and consoles
   Here is some twist that Microsoft was not the inventor but it was the perfector for Online Console Gaming . Xbox made a revolution in Gaming world .
   It's widely used for playing games and if you combine it with "Kinect" than it is a deadly combination and even if you are not a gamer you will start playing games .
   As it Microsoft trend to break records , Kinect was the fastest selling consumer product in the world . With 8 millions Kinect sold in 60 days . So you cannot ignore the presence , I must say the dominance of Microsoft in gaming division.
6. OneDrive – One way to access all your files on all devices .
   OneDrive is Microsoft cloud services implementation . With the help of OneDrive you can access files on your Desktop as well as your Mobile Phone (if you have shared that file on OneDrive) . It offers 15GB free space for a user and that space can be increased according to the subscription plan . Also , OneDrive can be accessed through Outlook and Office Online is also a part of it . So go create or edit Documents save it on OneDrive and then forget about your external storage device .

7. Visual Studio – The Best IDE to develop almost anything
   Looking for a tool where you can program for an app ,a website , a desktop application and much more , Visual Studio is here for you .
   It is best and the easiest for development with strong features like IntelliSense , Team Foundaiton Server etc . Once you start programming in visual studio you will never forget it's experience.
8. Microsoft Virtual Academy ,Channel 9 and MSDN – An Online Tutorials for different technologies
   Microsoft Virtual Academy and Channel 9 are both resources for developers where they can find almost anything to learn about Microsoft Technologies .
   MSDN stands for Microsoft Developers Network where you can find blogs , forums discussing about new and existing technologies .
9. Windows Azure Services – Microsoft Cloud based Services
   Windows Azure is Cloud Computing Platform and infrastructure developed by Microsoft . It is great for the use of Developers to use it in their softwares to provide users a rich experience .
10. Bing and Internet Explorer – A search engine made for you .
    Bing is a search engine like google developed and maintained by Microsoft .
    It is a safe search engine that filters the search results in a very proper and good way . Bing is colorful and feels good to use .
    Internet Explorer is the flagship browser for Microsoft that comes pre installed with Microsoft Windows . It is awarded as the most safe browser in the world .
    So the combination of Bing and Internet Explorer is a good choice for a newbie to a daily user of internet .

Now I am one of the many users of the above defined products and in this way Microsoft impacted my life . Teaching people how to use these technologies so that can be most productive .
